FAQ

How long is the license valid?

You can use KoiVM as long as you want after purchasing a license, even after the subscription expired, provided you didn't do anything bad (e.g. malwares).

What does subscription do?

You can obtain new version and receive supports for free during the subscription period. Note that even if the subscription expires, you can still use your version of KoiVM as long as you want.

Is Internet/ConfuserEx requires to use KoiVM?

KoiVM is a plugin for ConfuserEx, so it is required. However, Internet connection is only required on the initial downloading of files, and subsequently not needed, unless you want to update new versions.

What is Koi ID?

Koi ID is a unique identifier you will receive after purchasing KoiVM. It allows you to download KoiVM from server and receive supports (Please mention your Koi ID when you send support request). It has a format of "<<User Name>>_<<8 digit random hex number>>". Do not tell others your Koi ID, or others would be able to use your copy.

How often will KoiVM update?

If nobody could crack open a protection, then adding more protection does not mean much. Therefore, KoiVM would not update frequently, unless there are threats to its security.

Of course, performance and compatibility update would be released as usual. It is expect to have three to four updates per month, depending on users' request.

What is prohibited when using KoiVM?

First of all, malwares. Don't use KoiVM with them.

Second, don't give other people copies of KoiVM. The license is yours but not theirs.

Finally, don't let other people use your copy of KoiVM. This is specifically for those people who like to package different protector together and say it is a new protector. Don't do that.

Note that, you are allowed to reverse engineer KoiVM (provided you could), as I do it all the time!

Why commerical?

ConfuserEx is a free and open-source software, however KoiVM isn't. There is mainly two reasons for it.
